Out of this world

This is a card I made last night. Basically I cut the opening in the card from the silouette and then built an image to go behind it. Stickles were used for the stars and I made the background with Starlite Black and a sponge dauber. Images show card sitting as it would and then with it closed and then open to show the inside. I really like this, I think its a fun card.

A few days of cards

So I have had the chance to make some cards in the past week. The first 3 cards were made with CTMH patterned paper, Bazzill swiss dots paper and some buttons.

The following card is one that I just don't where I am going with. It uses some Stampin' Up paper, some ribbon and some Bazzill paper.

This last card is one of my most favourite cards. Definitely my favourite one for the year. Everything about it worked out so well. It's made with Bazzill Swiss Dots, cardstock, buttons and some ricrac ribbon. I cut out all of the shapes with Silhouette

Inspired

I was reading on a friend's blog and I was inspired by it. I haven't really had a chance to post lately so there goes that resolution.

In her post she related things that made her happy so I thought I would strive to do a post similar...

- I am happy that I have a job at a place that I really enjoy and with a boss that is so great

- I am happy that I no longer live in a place that has 100% humidity during the summer

- It is great that I have such wonderful co workers

- I am glad that I have jobs that use my musical talents

- While I enjoyed working in a church, I am grateful I have weekends off

- I enjoy having a husband that is so supportive of me and my ambitions

- I love my kids who almost always welcome me when I get home :-D

- I am glad that my husband has a job that makes him happy

I enjoyed this. I'm going to try and keep it up!

Also in other news, I'm going to be teaching a class at the store. Really looking forward to it!

Olympics and Update

So the Olympics are going on. I'm not hugely thrilled that we have them mainly because I'm worried about the backlash afterwards but there are things I am enjoying.

Dave and I have always enjoyed the sliding sports, Luge, Skeleton, Bobsled. Heck we even watch Bobsled when it's Nascar drivers doing it! We also like the jumping sports, Aerials, Moguls, Ski Jump.

I think the whole Own the Podium thing is kind of silly. We don't have the Olympic infrastructure to be the number one country in the world. I'm not sure what the truth is behind it but I heard that Denny was not allowed to continue training with an American. I don't think thats right, again I stress if thats the truth.

I have been sick a lot recently. Quite bothersome really. First I had a cold, not too bad but rough enough, then Dave got sic and from his cold he got an abscess behind a tooth which led to a dentist's apt. Then I got sick again and it's been a bad one. It's been over a week, heck almost two now. I am so freaking tired of being sick. Still coughing a fair amount but it's getting better every day so thats good.

Haven't had much energy for creating lately. Have been taking a bit of a break. I am hoping this coming weekend will see me having time to create.

So unproductive

So I had a day off on Wednesday and didn't get any cards made. I'm so disappointed in myself. That being said, I got a lot of house work done and started preparing for my family's arrival next Thursday.

I have all these bits for making cards but haven't been able to put anything together. I just can't figure out what I want to do with them yet. I'm sure something will come to me soon.

I'm looking forward to having my family come visit. I haven't seen my grandma since August 16 and my aunts since I think August 23. It'll be good to have them visit us, especially my grandma because she hasn't been here yet. I just hope it stays cold enough so that the ice doesn't melt because they are coming up for the High on Ice festival.

Must plod on. Later days.

A Day Off

Tomorrow I have a day off. I don't very often have a day off in the middle of the week. I'm not entirely sure what it is going to bring.

I am hoping that tomorrow will bring some card creations. I also want to work in my craft room. My darling hubby got my a really awesome storage stand for my room which I currently don't have room for. Maybe once I get it done I'll take some pictures and post them.

I am also hoping to figure out a way to post my cards. Better list them and stuff. I got a fun new stamp set that I've been tinkering with. Hoping to make some in to cards tomorrow.

Cards made today

So Dave's Mom and I were playing tonight and these are the cards I came up with. Not entirely happy with the pictures but that's life.

So I'm going to try again

I am making a New Year's Resolution. A resolution to actually keep up with my blog. So I'm starting it on New Year's Day!

It was a very crazy year with a move to Fort St. John. The upcoming year is probably going to be crazy as well.

Currently I am working at Unforgettable Memories, an absolutely fantastic scrapbooking and crafting store in Fort St. John. It is a lot of fun. My primary responsibilities are processing the in store and online photo orders and also the newsletters and website updates.

My plan is to post the cards I make here as I make them.

I am also doing some web work, mainly contract work.

Here's hoping I can keep to my resolution. I wonder what I should give myself if I do and if I should take anything away if I don't.
